Trexler Nature Preserve

uhoh

I'm on Trex as I type and my friend suffered the first flat. He was like "hey there's a twig stuck to my.... oh no."

The problem is he is running tubes and his LBS put a tubeless rim strip on. And for some reason that makes it ridiculously hard to mount a tire haha

Rain? Who cares, ride Trex

The seemingly non-stop rain driving you :out: ? VMB has a solution for your issues - well some of your issues :cornut: . Ride Trex, it is bulletproof, and can be ridden immediately after rain (maybe even during rain).

Check it out, a lot of work has been done recently and the trails are really fun - and are the only trails you can ride in this rainy season without damaging the trails

Updated Trex Map

There is an update trail map posted for Trex to reflect some good progress made recently  If you are not familiar with the trail system, print yourself a map and give the trails a try, you should have no problem finding your way around with the map.

Trexler Trails Grand Opening

Trexler NP and the Wildlands are putting on a Centennial Program all year at Trexler. It's the 100 yr anniversary of the arrival of the buffalo.

They would like to advertise our grand opening of the trail system. So we need to give them a date and a plan soon so it goes out in their advertisements.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

Slow but steady progress at Trexler

Scott, Andrew and I were out yesterday flagging a better climbing trail in the Springhouse Cove. The existing one is too hard to climb. We made good progress but need to finalize it before we call a chainsaw trail day.

Andrew has done one big reroute on HP3. A little rework in the bottom of the big gullies is all that is needed on HP3 now.
He has also reworked some difficult spots on the Dozer Trail. A few areas need some work here to make this trail flow well in both directions.

Trexler Conditions

To anyone headed out to Trexler;

Wendesday's (9.22) storm knocked down several large trees. To put it mildly, the flow is interupted.

Most of it is deadfall, but there is a huge White Pine that came down on the Mill creek road side not far from the HP2 exit.
A real shame to see a beautiful tree like that come down.

Thanks for all the hard work, I makes me want to get out there and lend a hand. When's the next work day up there?

Trex Dozer on its side

Just a heads up, a buddy of mine called me as he was riding the trails at trex tonight,(7/20/10) and said the small bulldozer located on one of the trails was pushed over onto it's side.
He and I were sure the Dozer wasn't left like that on purpose and it probably was some vandals.
I hope nothing is broken on it.
I'm not sure who owns it or rents it for the club, so I'm posting it here.
