Easton Bike Park and Pump Track Updates

VMB is working with the City of Easton and several Easton youth-development organizations to build a paved pumptrack near downtown and a bike park facility at Hackett Park.

The project is being led by VMB president Louis Mazzante and Easton Director of Public Works Dave Hopkins. Easton Mayor Sal Panto supports the project.

In October, the Easton City Council approved the hiring of RockSolid Trails, out of Bentonville, Arkansas, to create a concept plan and feasibility study, with we expect to be completed in early 2023.

From there, based on the feasiblity of several locations we're exploring, we'll begin fundraising through grants, as well as corporate and community donations, and begin preparing construction and engineering plans, permitting, and finally, construction.

Given the scope of the project we expect it to take at least 2-3 years.

Update January 17:  RockSolid visited Easton in mid-December and visited three potential sites. The Hackett Park Bike Park will have several acress of jump lines, skill features and possibily a Strider Zone and some flow trails. The downtown Pump Track has several possible locations that RockSolid liked, and we're working with the city to finalize. We expect to have an initial concept plan and feasibility study by mid-February to present to the city, and then will have an opporunity for public input on the project before a final concept plan comes together. We'll use that to fundraise, and develop a comprehensive construction plan over the rest of 2023 and into 2024.
