Trexler Nature Preserve

Trex needs signs!!!

And I will make them for the place! The paper one are long gone, and the ttrail names have changed... so being in the sign industry for 21 years, I will make some and donate them, if ya'll are interested. I didn't know who to cantact about doing this, so if anyone can direct me, please do so. I assure you they will last a long time. Lets do something nice with the VMB logo, and trail names and small directional signs , maybe showing how to get to broken arrow, and the fireman's trails. Just a thought. Please contact ma at shawnmmx@rcn.com

Night Riding at Trex

Night Riding at Trex is officially unofficially allowed! Meaning it's allowed on the down low for this year. If it works out without incidence, it will be official next year.
I told Bob that we' d be out of there by 9 and have some kind of VMB or biking identification on vehicles.

First ride at Trexler

Hi. I am new to the area. The girlfriend and I just moved to Bethlehem. I am starting to get her in mountain biking. We rode at Trexler today for the first time. We had a great time, though the trails were not clearly marked at all. If there is a day someone does trail maintenance and wants some help marking trails, we both would like to help. Please feel free to let me know.

Thanks
Dan

Summer 2012 Trex Update - Trail Solutions, Lehigh County, DCNR, VMB

Lorne from DCNR has been spearheading the effort for Trail Solutions to come to Trex. He has been working to align the grants and funding to make this possible.

He recently ran into a roadblock concerning Trail Solutions. In the County's eyes, this is a non-bid situation that requires even more paperwork and time, a lot more. And as Lorne put it, he is so far down the road with TS that he cant turn back into a bidding situation.

The Sun came out a bit over Trex, at least in my mind....

I was worried that the County had no incentive to get a Professional Trail Organization to do a Master Plan. So I was thinking gloom that the new trail faucet would just drip until it rusted shut.
But, after a few email exchanges and when I reminded them that I had Sustainable Trailworks LLC come out 4 years ago at the project onset to give us a quote, they asked me to spearhead the PTO effort, and to get multiple quotes
So, onward we press.......

HP3 question

First off, I've been back twice since the revisions, and OMG, I'm addicted to Trex now.

Regarding HP3, I do have a technique question about one of the banked switchbacky turns. It's toward the beginning- I believe after you enter HP3, make the first left banked turn, and then make a banked right turn and go down a STEEP and awesome slope, up over a jump, right there- that tall banked left turn after the really steep drop-in and jumpy part.
