Was hiking up at Trex Friday morning checking out Drews eagle scout project trail and hiked through a lot of tall grass. I got back to my car and cleaned myself up and found 4 of the tiniest ticks I've ever pulled off myself. Ichecked and rechecked and rechecked. A little nervous because there are spots of body I can't see, not to mention its hard to see the little monsters to begin with. Be thorough when checking yourself up there. We gotta do some more grass trimming to get this under control.
so here it is my project so far. this sunday when details are finalized i can add those in as well.
Project description
This is a direct invite to everyone that went to Raystown and said how great the trails were. It sounds like Trex has the potential to have the same kind of fast and flowy feel y'all experienced at Raystown. I know riding the trails at White Clay Creek made me want to have something like that around here. I love the rocks but sometimes its fun to just rip some sweet, fast singletrack.
So who is bringing what for lunch?
What are you bringing to eat? I will bring buns or rolls or whatever bread type product we need to put meat on.
Wow! The IMBA Trail Care Crew approved us for a trail building school visit at Trexler Nature Preserve on the weekend of Sept 19 & 20. This will include both classroom and hands on training for us and other trail building volunteers.
We will invite County personnel, Wildlands personnel, County Execs, DCNR Personnel, Urban Planners and many others to this event. Its likely we will receive some newspaper press on this event as well..
Below is an interactive map of what has been cleared at Trex. The track does not include the 2 bypasses which would bring the total cleared area to over 3 miles. We walked from furthest point back to stable.

Its a little off of where the trail is but close, and no the trail doesn't cross its-self before the shale face. week signal in that gully.
Hows this for a goal. Get enough of a loop done at Trexler to have a grand openeing day for the club and the community. I been talking to my reps from Marin and Jamis about bringing the demo fleet to Trexler for a day to celebrate the new trail system. Granted we have a lot of work to do up there but this can help motivate. I'm sure we'd have to talk to Gettings about something like this. Any input?
