1) Continental Mountain King 2.4 Supersonic Tires
I actually won this tire at a recent event. It replaces my go-to front tire, the WTB MotoRaptor 2.4. I've been generally satisfied with the WTB for years, but recently was thinking I might be able to find something that wouldn't wash as much on fast turns.

I'm pretty sure "Supersonic" is German for stupid-light. Considering our local terrain, this could mean trouble -- both in terms of flats and possible sidewall damage.

Blogstart

I've decided to use my space here as a sort of equipment-opinion blog.

I should immediately follow this by explaining that this is not even close to a scientific testing process. And maybe also say that I'm a sh*t rider -- so you probably shouldn't really listen to anything I have to say anyway. Also, I'm certainly not trying to change your mind on anything here. If I don't particularly like something you're in love with or you disagree with me, please share your opinion -- that's healthy -- but please don't take it personally. This is just MY experience with it.

A Great Big Thank You!!!

I just want to thank the guys who went on the Jordan night ride tonight and had the patience for the newbies. That would be me and hubbie. You all were a big help with advancing our level of riding with doing this night ride. We had a blast. Even with all the times I head to pick up myself and my bike, lol. We hope to go again soon.
Thanks again, Veronika

Warren Miller's Playground is showing at Bear Creek at 2:00pm (that's 3:00pm for you non-clock changers)

If you don't know who Warren Miller is, he is the ski worlds provider of Ski Porn. There is a silent auction for gear from 12-2 and a raffle drawing at intermission.

Tickets are $12 at the door. Kids are half price.

Uhhh, skiing...

Talked with some friends in Vermont this morning who phoned me from the top of Killington. They were poaching some early morning runs on snow that Killington is furiously blowing on top of the mountain. They are at over 4,200 ft and it is cold, and they always try hard to get open with top to bottom for early Nov. (when I worked there I was lucky that they opened in late Oct. every year). So, early season boarding/skiing is not too far away!

I forgot to ask my buds how early they began their hike to summit at first light this morning...

Critical Mass

Yeah, if you read the last bicycling mag, you probably know what critical mass is. So we headed up to San fran after work to check it out. I wasn't sure how I felt about the event, but when i looked back on the number of times cars have buzzed me in the past and tried to run me off the road, I didn't feel; so bad about wrecking everyones comute.

pics didn't come out so well after dark, but heres a shot of everyone getting excited at a major interesectoin, it was sort of like a big mosh pit with everyone holding there bikes over there head victoriously.
