New Guy

Hey folks, I'm starting to get into my bike and have started to work on training for a few off-road triatholons, and maybe an Xtera race. I live in Palmer township and have been riding the canal betwen Bethlehem and Easton but want to actuly get off the 4 foot wide path and hit some trails. I have heard alot about Jacobsburg state park, Any pointers to help get me started without killing my self.
Any help would be great. Thanks

New Year's Resolutions 2008 - Results

Most of the items on this list are bike related, however not all of them directly. Enjoy.

1. Eliminate half of my debt, so I can buy more bike stuff without the stinkeye.

- Well I was able to reduce it by about a third, not bad with this last years economy

2. Sell my VT frame

- failed, I still have it, but it is built up and displayed in the window at King's Cyclery in K-town

3. Buy more bike stuff.

- I did, but some of it was used to save $

4. Participate in at least 5 trail building days.

- close, but no cigar. I think I have 3 or 4 only.

XC Ski frame of mind

It is that time of year again for me -- hitting up the nordic (XC) ski centers for some quality killer workouts. The New England resorts are all open 100% with awesome conditions. Closer to home, Crystal Lake Ski Center near Williamsport and Mohonk Mountain near New Paltz, NY have great conditions as well with the new snowfall. This isn't knocking around in your backyard -- nordic ski centers are a great cultural experience with amazing trails groomed to perfection like Salisbury or Ted's Backyard, just for XC skiing. The scene is great, super athletic, and really fun.
