If your interested and it saves you any money I switched over from Met-Ed to Ambit. It saved me about $10 a month, not much but its a few beers! Also if I refer 15 people I get my energy supply charges for free. Same goes for you as well. They also offer a green energy option which is cool.
I know its been said before and you've heard it a thousand times already but thanks to everybody who's ever posted their trailwork hours. It is great public relations material and potentially very important data for use when we meet with the landowners we already work with or if/when we're ever in negotiation with potential landowner partners in the future on other trail opportunities.

For those members unaware, Jim D. has been very active in laying the groundwork for a multifaceted bike park to be called Rivers Edge on 4 acres of public land in the Poconos for which VMB will be offering its official support.
Monroe County, Middle Smithfield and Smithfield townships and Delaware Water Gap Borough have indicated their official support for this cool project which will include a pump track, skills area, trails, and other components that will significantly enhance the bike scene in the Poconos. This park will connect to that region's trail network.

Something for everybody to start thinking about for the April (or even March) meeting onwards- how about a regular change in scenery for our Board and General Membership meetings? This topic popped up on a separate meeting thread but deserves its own.
Wherever we meet should probably be:
1.) somewhat centrally located within five or so miles of Bethlehem-Allentown so we're not forcing our Poconos - Bucks and -Berks Co. members to travel too far. Should be quick and convenient to get to.
Looking for a volunteer who will assume responsibility of the membership/merchandising committee. Someone who may have better capabilities to do a nicer job. If interested please pm me or Jon Roth.
Please keep in mind that all recommendations for 2013-2014 Board appointment by VMB's officers pending membership approval must be made to me by this Friday, 2/1/2013.
Preferences for prospective Board appointees are specified on the related thread but I'll mention once again that we are looking for individuals with a diversity of experience, great insight, and the time availability to dedicate to regular meetings in which they'll be able to assist the officers in guiding the planning and implementation of VMB's 2013-2014 agenda.
Checked out Wharton Woods today. The place is rad! Quite the opposite of around here, Wharton is ripping fast twisty goodness, high- and low-speed tree threading goodness that rocks (without a single rock in the place!). Riding in the southern 'Jersey Pine Barrens is all about pedalling fast, leaning in and trying to stay off the brakes as you bend the million turns in an arc -- envision that jet-bike ripping through the trees segment in an old Star Wars episode. You can be so pegged the whole time, I pretty much bonked ugly after a 19mi loop chasing the Easy Riders team guys around.
