Stan's don't work...

...when you pinch flat your face! Thank gawd Dr. Ted from Rancho Relaxo (aka Ted's Jump Jam) was on call to throw a boot on.

Bike Safety...

from thieves that is.
Just want to share that after the Wednesday night ride most of us went to La Lupitas for dinner. There were 7 of us parked along fourth street from around 8:00-9:00 pm. When we came out someone had been trying to steal my bike out of Pat's truck. He had a cable lock around them so they did not succeed. They smashed my bike into Pat's and put a dent in his brake line. My bike was closest to the sidewalk and I think we were the only ones not using a regular mounted locking bike rack.
Just a head's up.

Cheap (prescription) Sunglasses

Found a source, would like some recommendations on lens tint and color....
Choices are Brown, Green, Grey, Purple, Blue, and Yellow.
% Transmission (light or dark) are 20, 40, 60, and 80%. There are also polarized lenses available in Grey, Green or Brown, 60% Transmission.

What do you recommend for color and Transmission?

This is the site I'm looking at:
http://www.eyebuydirect.com
Lots of choices ranging from sports glasses to obnoxiously colored 'fashion' frames that would be great for biking.
Prices start at $20 WITH lenses! I'm looking at $50+ with options...

Going to Sin City!

Ok! My wife going to Las Vegas 3/12- 3/17 for a health and fitness seminar and I joining her. }:)
I have a couple of question for my all-knowing friends. :?
1. Should I send a bike out or rent one for 4 days. (I'm think, send a bike)
2. If a send my bike out which one should I send? Stumpy 29er or EWR 29er? (EWR would be more dependeable)
3. Should I buy a bike case, ask to borrow one or just get a box from a shop? (Does anyone have a case or should I buy one for up and coming trips)

6 Mile Trails, NJ

6 Mile is a really cool trail system in the NJ wilderness of Somerset (kind of near Perth Amboy). Riding there is flowy and fast, and all about ripping corners and laughing about it. Pretty cool man-made obstacles, and pump-lines everywhere that you can utilize. Definitely worth a trip if you are needing something different, though there is not a TON of riding there -- good Sunday morning shred for sure. If you need more milege, get Robbie's GPS data and ride out there and back for a 120 mile day.

Nockamixon Trails CLOSED 11/26, 12/1

Just a reminder that the Nockamixon Mountain Bike Trail system will be CLOSED this Monday, November 26th (opening day of buck season) AND the following Saturday, December 1st (first Saturday of buck season). Closure signs are posted at trailheads - please avoid riding at Nockamixon on these two days due to the large number of hunters that will be afield.
