Thanks to all Volunteers in 2012!

As we close out 2012, a big "thank you" to all the VMB trail committees, volunteers, and their families who sacrificed their time to make the trails we care for the best they can be. We generated over 900 volunteer-hours this year on a wide range of projects representing a good mix of storm-damage related work and permanent trail improvement and expansion.

VMB on Twitter

Now that it's almost 2013, we figured it was time for VMB to get on the Twitter. Come follow us at BikeVMB https://twitter.com/BikeVMB

It's a quick and easy way to stay up to date on rides, trail days, social events and other VMB news. And if you ever have anything exciting going on that you want the rest of the club—and everyone else in the world—to know about, shoot me a pm and I'll tweet it.

Valley Mountain Bikers Adopt-a-Highway Cleanup!

FYI for those of you not aware - Valley Mountain Bikers officially adopted a stretch of Mountain View Drive (Route 563) bordering Nockamixon State Park last spring from Route 412 runnning back towards Route 313 about 2 miles.

PennDOT posted VMB's name on signs in both directions which represents awesome PR for the club.

Today, the Nox Crew was out and cleaned up basically enough to stuff a pickup truck's worth of garbage bags. Trust me, it was bizarre what we found out there. :out:

Happy Holidays and Thanks for a Great Year, VMB.

As we enter this last weekend before Christmas, I wanted to recognize and appreciate all that we have going into 2013.

A great membership dedicated to our sport including many who have already PM'ed me with best wishes and to make suggestions. I'm listening so keep those ideas coming. Thanks to all who have had to cope with my long, detailed responses. Biggrin

Rattling Creek

IMBA just posted some info and photos on Rattling Creek--as well as a few other Epic trails, on the Geo Stories page run by National Geographic. It's part of the group's larger mapping project, and it's cool to see a PA trail represented. Look closely at the pics and you might recognize some of the riders.

is anyone elae having problems viewing the site since the upgrade?

Ever since the site and forum was uodated , my phone can't view it properly. All I get is the black background, the forums software windows just flicker and disappear and stuff.

I'm on a Samsung Galaxy Nexus so its not like I'm using a Jitterbug or something. This is the only site I go to that I have problems with. Hmm

3 year olds dig night rides

Friday my son asked me before bed if we could go biking on Saturday, but I had to work, and he was kinda bummed. We have a park behind our house, and a paved walking trail, and so Saturday after work I figured "eh, why not" and mounted the MJ-872 to his Hotrock 12 and a cheapy light from Home Depot on his head.

Being 3, he did not start saying things like "oh but Magicshines don't put out their advertised lumens, blah blah" Smile ...he had a blast. He went faster than usual, and was whooping and hooting with excitement, haha.

2013 VMB Board Recommendations Now Open

VMB's officers have opened the recommendation process to appoint the 2013 Board. Members are free to recommend either themselves or to propose others to serve from April 1, 2013 until March 31, 2014. The Board is comprised of these five appointees and the four elected officers.

Members must PM me their recommendations between December 16th, 2012 and February 1st, 2014. I will then submit these individuals' names to the officers for consideration under the VMB by-laws which require that the officers' subsequent Board appointments be subject to membership approval.
