Conditions at Crystal Lake are honestly the best I have ever seen them. Grooming is perfect, and there is about 6" of champagne powder in the woods for back country. Get on up there. I might go Monday.
Crystal Lake Ski Center was awesome today, and it was pretty easy to stay warm with all of the climbing.
The Saturday snowstorm was really cool -- it reminded me of riding in Vermont as those conditions were an almost daily occurance. EWR Factory Team rider Craig Lander, Bob Eichlin and myself went out for a few laps in the crazy conditions, trying to chase down Matt Hosfeld's group. Ultimately, we criss crossed each others tracks but never made contact in our quest to do 3 hours of riding time.
Robbie is no softie. Quite the opposite, as he has logged roughly thousands of hard and pulverizing miles in the saddle this season. Rather befittingly, he crushed and numbingly pummled his posterior so hard this year that today he literally rode his balls off.
Now what is Joey up to, where the heck is this, and what are the UCI officials doing in town? Hmmm...

When you put yesterday's driving snowstorm, one ultra endurance freak (with dog) and three disgruntled ex-pro downhillers together, it's gonna be ri-gawd-damned-diculous. Chris Talotta pinning it on the new steep twisty's at Sals. I nearly got drilled as he nearly drifted out of this high-speed bermshot.
BTW, L.T.F.O. stands for Talotta's skiing mantra: Look The ---- Out!
I really like the intensity of this photo -- pinning it with Ted on his pump track. There are not many people I trust to closely follow on jumps, and Ted is one for sure.
This so captures the Long Hot Summer Sessions of '08 at his house, every Tuesday evening until it was literally too dark to see. There were always a bunch of rippers around, we dug like crazy, and got mauled by mosquitos. It was always really hot and humid under the canopy of trees, too. So much fun...
