Slow day - What's your resting heart rate?

On a damp a dreary day like today with nothing else better to do, I found out my resting heart rate is 60bpm. Dirol That's a wee bit better than the average schlub and I'm sure not as good as some of you supper human types out there.
So post up and see where you stand - are you normal or a genetic freak with an Ox heart that explains your ablility to climb The Superman in a single breath?

The Jim Thorpe locals are hosting their weekly ride Thursday's at 6:00pm from the train station. Not a "hammer ride", the focus of the weekly event is on bringing people together from the region to promote a consistent ride in town that showcases the diverse local trail system with a different destination each week. Bavarian at Behtlehem ;)

Hi,
my name is Eric Eschner,I'm 20 years old, I'm from Germany and I am going to work at Bosch Rexroth for 6 months as an intern. I was searching for a group of bikers where I can join when I found this community. I already read that you guys have some training rides. Do you only meet once a week for the wednesday ride, regularly, or are there some groups who meet more often? How long will you meet for the wednesday ride concerning the wintertime? Do I need a car to get to the meeting points?

I'm looking forward to biking with you!!!

Hubbard Last Rides

If you've not been to Hubbard, you might want to check it out this Thursday. There is going to be a huge powerline going through there, with will eliminate many of the trails. A bunch of sections of them have already been destroyed as the power company has been cutting access through there. It is a shame as the trails there are really really good, rocky, flowing and creatively built. The Hubbard crew still rides every Thursday night (just not from the Barn), an they are organizing a big shindig for this week. Weather looks great. Post here if you want info or directions.

Hydraulic Fracturing coming to the Broad Mountain in Jim Thorpe

Riding the Deer Path after the American Standard is pretty much tradition, and I got to do that for the first time in years today. We (sadly) came across some weird selective cutting, clearing, and rough forest roads criss crossing the Deer Path trail. It was pretty weird, and we figured it was the Game Commission clearing deer habitiat. Riding on the doubletrack through the Broad Mountain Loop past the Gorge lookout and the headwaters of the Glen Onoko, the doubletrack crosses another stream.
