brand-new mountainbiker to-be

Well, our son FINALLY arrived fast and furious very early this morning (after 10 miserable days in suspense and then an unexpected frantic 3:00 A.M. drive up 309 to LVH from Q-town) and is doing well. Mom's a true champ (but a little worn out) after her second epiduraless yetvery quiet natural delivery in just over 12 months.

You'll see both of them out at Nockamixon ripping strava on the old man's trails before you know it. Biggrin

MTB parallels BMX: Good Read

BMX has its own unique sustainablility issues, as does mountain biking. As both evolve and the riding populations age, progression marches on. This is really interesting, and while rooted here the effects are felt throughout both communities. Pretty cool -- please read:

Blue Marsh Blue Moon Moonlit Ride, Tursday (as in tomorrow)

This month features a rare blue moon, and what better place to celebrate than at Blue Marsh! We are meeting at Ganley's Irish Pub at 7:30pm and riding from there. The trails are awesome for this, and the group will be diverse, to say the least! See you there?

Yellow Jackets Nest at SALS

WARNING: There is a yellow jackets nest at the top of the blue switchback. I can only explain it as the spot where after climbing from the Constitution lot and it flattens out with large rocks on your left/ Typically a rest spot. Well dead center of the trail is the nest. Bee careful..LOL

Is there an approximate life expectation for steel frames?

There was a guy on MTBR who posted a thread about how he was considering selling his Surly Big Dummy and getting a fatbike. I jokingly made a post about trading him my Pugsley for his Big Dummy, and as it turns out, he lives in eastern Ohio and offered a trade. Well, it would likely be a trade plus some cash for me.

His Big Dummy is maybe like a 2009-10 model, my Pugsley is a 2011 model, but his bike was a commuter, but he says it was well cared for.
