mass #1

the promoters decided to start the local series with a four person relay short race. My team was lined up with a landscaper(me) dressed in denim , a hoody, gardening gloves, and a trucker hat. A school boy(matt m.) dressed in a nice shirt, tie, and nickers. Batman(brandon G) well dressed like batman with cape and all. And a hungover redneck(aaron) dressed with jean cut offs, a mullet, and a flannel. Our team name was three minors and a phedafial(sp) which i thought was going to offend some until some dude stole my thunder and finished his race butt ass naked. I couldn't believe it .

the result

well after a e-mail of bitching about what happened at nc, they reviewed the results and factored in the finishing times and then decided i was worthy of my upgrade . now i am once again "pack fill" once i enter a regular norba national. oh well, should be interesting anyway.

Joey's 14 Foot Tall Bud (seriously)

Like all good rides, serious ribbing on today's recovery ride with Joey and Bud. No one told Bud it was recovery, though -- it was Half Wheel Hell all day into the wind. Bud has decided to step up his game and rebounded by crushing one guy who's been sick for a week and another who is on an off week after a month straight of training. Nice Bud. Rolling through Virginville, we stop in at my brother's house and he shows us their art studio and up inside there is a 14 foot tall statue of their neighbor Jim.

Best line I've ever heard. Ever.

Elk (Indy Fab single speed racer Mark Elsasser): "Jay, did you ever go so hard in a race to where you got cross-eyed?"

Jay: "Yeah..."

Elk: "Did you ever go so hard that you stayed cross-eyed for over 1/2 the race?! That's what I did today, and I still only got 7th."

Jay: "..."

Check out Mark's website to see what kind of guy goes so hard that he routinely gets crosseyed for most of his races:

good ol wiss

so after that race i took a little break but got back out tonight down at valley green/wissahickon. point shark Bud and the cannondale rep brian joined me. Bud ripped it up on his 1fg showing off his new fitness level in hopes of a dejesus sighting soon to rip his legs off. (jay , he really said that, watch out) the trails are bone dry and ripping fast. Felt great to ride those conditions.

sometimes i'm always in the wrong Line of life

i sware, sometimes i'm cursed and Murphy's law moves inthe backseat of my life. I'm always in the longest line at the toll booths, the grocery store etc. This week has been hectic(waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa) I picked up the bike to do the crits tonight, throw it in the back and set my keys down. I closed the hatch and heard a chirp......well that was my doors locking. Papo had a Jimmy lock set that tow trucks use and long story short 80minutes later we finally opened it with a little less paint left on the door. Got to the crits late, couldn't race, watched them race and froze my fingers off.
