Trexler Nature Preserve

Just read in the August 2nd edition of the Parkland News -- "Bowhunting of deer and turkey, in addition to other recreational activities such as hiking, biking and horseback riding, will be permitted this fall, starting Sept. 29 at the North Range of the Trexler Nature Perserve in Schnecksville."

Biking? I know there was talk of this a while back. Anybody know details?

Dehydration II -- Damion Miller's Lament

This on is too good to bury in the other "dehydration" thread. Damion, please post a recounting of your pre-race hydration idea that you used before the Mount Snow NORBA National (way back in 1994 or something)? Quite the opposite of pre-loading hydrating, but absolutely intentional none the less. His intention was to eliminate his peeing discomfort during racing, but the outcome was not quite what he expected. There is a valuable lesson within.

It is a really impressive and darling story that I hope he himself will share. Otherwise, I'll have to...

Deer Park / Allamuchy Ride Sunday 8/5

Just posting to connect up with the guys I rode with from VMB today at Deer Park. Ben and I enjoyed connecting up with you and showing you the trails.

The trail map can be found here:

We basically rode all the trails except for one short "yellow" section.

I'm interested in possibly joining you for the 24 hours of Allamuchy, just let me know. It all depends on whether my daughter is up for the tandem. Chances are good, I'll be looking for a team.

Killdozer on the move

Gotta send out congrats to Joey T. for his latest cycling achievement -- he has been upgraded to a CAT 3 Roadie! That's no joke, and the level of competition around here is just crazy. He's had a really great summer of racing (following a really focussed winter and spring of training) and he's placed in so many races, including winning a crit in Connecticut. That is really great!

Keep on keeping on, Joe...
