Whitehall Parkway Update

I finally got to speak with someone from the Whitehall Parkway Envirenmental Advisary Council on Sunday morning. This group controls and regulates any trail maintenance or new trail building in the Whitehall Parkway (there is a map of this area in our Map page). They are interested in us volunteering to do some single track trail clean up but I need to attend their next meeting (March 12th). They would like me to give them info. about our club and explain what maintenance we would like to do.

Does anyone else do this???

So, my family is heading down to Collegeville to visit my brother and his family. At the intersection of 662 and 422 in Amity I am behind a Ford Explorer with a Dirt Rag sticker, a Notubes.com sticker and another sticker that I can't remember at the moment but it was one from the mtb world and of course the bike rack on top. I say to Abbie, "hey, another mtb'r is in front of us".

Brooklyn 09'

Every winter while i have the time i like to ride to NYC to visit my childhood best friend,Jamie, once or twice. In the past i've done it on a schwinn fixie, a mtn bike, but this year my bike of choice was my Cyclocross rig. I packed my Hydropak borracho with 17lbs of supplies including dress cloths since the plan was to have a dinner out with his folks at a fancy vegan gourmet place, then ride in the palisades area the next morning. This was Thurs morning and the ride was already going to be a challenge with 50mph gusts as mostly a tail wind but sometimes a non helpful crosswind.

the 3way/j burg conditions

this morning i wanted to wear out the d o double g before i started the long process of moving our landscape bus to a new location. so i decided to do a run at the burg pretty early. did 30 careful minutes due to ice up in the meadows area. dakota was content. After getting home this evening i did my second workout on cadencetv. Cadence is a shop near philly that does all my fitness testing and bike fittings. they have this cool thing called cadencetv which is $50 for a YEAR (i think to anybody) and is umlimited streaming of indoor spin workouts and pre videotaped outdoor road workouts.

thankful for late arrival

so first lets back up a day. Saturday morn i got the award for best uncle(givin by me) by taking my little niece to clay art school. 10 saturdays in a row. ouch. good birth control though. After class i headed to Buds house/plantation. The goal was to light his flame of cycling again. pretty sure it was successful. two hour road loop with a good pace . Thinking of a way to really piss him off to fuel the fire like he had a few years back. i'll get him.

Conditions at salisbury?

Hey guys,

I'm from philly and a member of PMBA. My wife and I are wanting to ride tomorrow and I was wondering what the conditions are like out at Salisbury? Sloppy like here in Philly or still somewhat frozen? I went snowboarding up at blue the other day and noticed that you didn't get quite as much snow as we got here so was hoping the biking conditions might be better there tomorrow. Thanks in advance for letting me know what the conditions are. I absolutely love your trails by the way. Dusty

i'm sick of giving him compliments

Well, i crowbared myself into a ride Rob was going to but didn't organize. Hey, we all ride bikes right? I was heading towards the ride and i had this odd feeling that the legs weren't "waking up" and I knew i would run into trouble. I rolled up to SMC and saw Dirt Devil, it was good to see him. I saw the contents of the ride and well.....a guy named "The animal," "The Flask," a current Olympic cyclists, Most Improved rider Mattmor, and oh yeah; the guy everybody loves.....Rob!!!!

this or that

while i wanted to hit the trails today, the conditions just didn't seem condusive to what i needed to do, so i put on my "roadcake" (that's what greg calls me now) stuff and off I went. All i can say is.......Man, was it like Belgium today!!!!!!! BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
