This week's video, 02/23:
Bikes are fun!
(It's long, but don't miss the "chariot" race where the passenger has to run out and grab stuff...!!!!)
Doesn't fit in the other forums, post it here

Looks like a module update hosed the Gallery page. I'll be able to fix it... just not immediately.
Could someone help me out regarding those various colored trail direction markers/blazes/squares/diamonds that I see at the trails like Sals, Jacobsburg, and Bear Creek (plus others). I read in another thread about Sals getting some new ones and was wondering where you all are getting these from. I have made some in the past from some donated material but don't have that source anymore. I need to replace and put some new ones up here in my neck of the woods and would appreciate some leads.
My team of the Cancer Society is always looking for a fund raiser that not every fundraising group already does. After visiting this site for the past 2 years, I had an idea but wished to get some feedback on what other fellow bikers would think. What about a mountain bike poker ride? We could pay a certain amount to enter the ride, then along the trail draw cards to see who gets the best poker hand by the end of the ride. Prizes awarded to the best few hands. Prizes would depend on # of riders or sponsoring bike shops. This is just an idea to see if an event like this would work.
If you need to ride and don't want to wreck the trails, try riding your mountain bike on the road (yes, the paved road Heidi). If you don't want to deal with traffic try these places:
Ironton Rail Trail in Whitehall
Rodale Fitness Park in Trexlertown
Trexler Park in West Allentown (bikes
allowed Tues,Thurs and Sat. I believe)
If Jonk gets over his cold we might post an urban ride this weekend. And if you just need to get out and exercise, come to Trexler Game Preserve this Saturday for some hiking and benchcutting.
Did anyone see "North America's Best Trails" in Bike Magazine??
I've been on :Porcupine Rim, Zippety Do Da, Kokopelli, Blue Mtn Reservation (the one trailbuilder moved here), Amasa Back, Black Mountain NC & the Sidewinder in the Kingdom. Plus the Kingdom was named best trail network.
Oooh we need to find the right half-pipe at Trex to do a Sidewinder .....
Who's been on these and the others?
my story is not unique, b/c many people are out there begruding their bike to do a ride, but yet....what else would you do? watch TV? pssssshhhhhawwww! we go ride our bikes.
today was a simple plan; ride my bike. Well it didn't work out that way, i rode my bike, but i was cussing the whole way. I headed west thinking i would beat the storm and more importantly catch a tailwind.
WELL, WAS I WRONG!!! 30mins into it, thesnow started falling, then the temps started falling then I was next!
My friend Dan Ellis created this simple directory for conditions and comments on PA trails. He needs locals to clue in the masses. His email is in there somewhere if you'd like to contact him, but the thing should become a pretty resource for getting out of town to ride. Check it out:
going to be in the area on sat for a leisurely kinda ride with some members of the family. can anyone give me an idea of the conditions there or the surrounding area?
