Quick general question regarding puddles/small swampy areas since rain has been the topic this week.
A.) Ride right in the middle of them deepening the hole/making ruts?
B.) Ride around widening the trail?
What is proper and what do you do? I usually go right through them but have gone around them plenty of times.
Just curious, is there any decent MTB'ing/singletrack down near Avalon, NJ? :?
I tried doing a google search and came up empty.
Going to be there for a week at the end of July and wondering if it is worth bringing the bike.

Two weeks ago tomorrow, I suffered a type 2 AC joint separation after a hard landing on my shoulder. The good news is - after 1 week I was jogging and riding again (smooth surfaces only - bumps still hurt). The bad news is - it's driving me crazy 24 hrs. a day. It's not a severe pain, but it's constantly achey and uncomfortable.
Next week Im going out to Pittsburgh for work, actually Greensburg, just wondering if anyone has any recommendations on riding out there.

My husband had an ACL replacement about 6 years ago, thinks he retore it. The surgeon that did his knee is no longer available, so I was hoping you all could recommend a good orthopedic surgeon??

Just wanted to ask the general VMB population if anyone has been out to Lake Tahoe and has any recommendations on things to do, see, eat, or drink i.e. trails/hikes/restaurants/pubs that may have been enjoyed while anyone has been out there? We will be out there for 7 days and I want to capitalize on everything I can whilst there..
Anyone know how Bear Creek is right now?
I was at Green Lane today for scout Jambo and it was a muddy mess. Did a short hike and it was mostly mud. That place always drains like crap, though.
Anyway, thinking of riding tomorrow morning on my way to work at Trex. Probably a 7:30 start at Bear Creek. IIRC, it drains pretty well.
Anyone know how the conditions are there? Anyone want to ride early?
I've been advised to try a protein drink after rides to help with muscle repair. I picked up a few samples at the health food store to try. I tried the first one after my ride last night. I didn't sleep well at all last night. Not sure if it was too many carbs in the mix or what, but I also had some really crazy dreams.
Fun weekend. Tough race. Courtney also did back to back 5k's. One pushing Ellie. Super mom lol.
