OK - I've got something I think that will really stir things up so here goes...Rant on.

I came to the VMB Open House at TNP in early June, met a few of you and asked whether you guys thought my 7 year old would be capable of mountain biking. You were really encouraging. She (daughter) was pretty mad at me that day for not bringing her bike along after seeing all of you out there on the trails. This past weekend I took her over to Jacobsburg and she kicked my butt out there! We rode for 90 minutes and I was completely impressed by her. She did great on some pretty tricky things like steps and sharp curves in the trail while going downhill.

I'm in a bit of a pinch and I'm wondering if one or two you might be able to help me out. I had a mountain biker set up to sweep my race course this coming Sunday at the Quadzilla 15k at TNP. Unfortunately, a more pressing engagement came up for him and he had to bow down. Now I am left without anyone to follow the runners around the Border Trail. I realize it is not the most ideal trail for mountain biking because of the hills but I thought I would at least try and ask if anyone would be interested in this job. At this point I am pretty desperate.

Day 1 Update

Anyone ride there recently? I went there this afternoon after looking at the map that's in the photo gallery. I think I found all the singletrack entrances, but it's pretty overgrown. Is anyone actively working on the trails? I live about 5 mins from it, and would be interested in helping to maintain it.

I am posting this as an FYI to people who ride/walk the towpath regularly especially as in this circumstance towards the Palmer end/Beth Twsp. My parents ride the towpath regularly and find it very nice excpet for last night. They were riding west from the Palmer end and as they came through at the boat launch were warned by some people there to watch out for a large group of kids up ahead? As they continued riding they saw up ahead approx 15 or so teenagers at the rope swing, blocking the trail.

June 23 - 26 was my little riding groups annual "Man"cation trip weekend. This year we chose to go to Slatyfork, WV and ride the trails of Pocahontas County and Snowshoe Resort.

Our "little" group actually expanded to 8 guys this year. Jubber, JT, Prince, Fizzy, Mr. Clean (aka Luis), What's His Name(aka Pat), Earl(Jubber's brother from CT) and myself. By the time the trip was over we all had at least 2 or 3 nicknames, due to the hilarity caused by our collective stupidity.
