It was nice seeing all the people I know from the scene all together in one room tonight!

I will say to the "core" VMB members who hung out by the back counter, take note of the amount of people that were here tonight. They (and more) are wanting to step up and help grow the club.

TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THAT! Let us help. Trust in us, delegate to us, we all have the same goals. New opinions and viewpoints are a good thing. Making snide comments while others talk? Not a good thing.

I never thought I would be campaigning for president but I am happy to volunteer and continue to work on behalf of the club. My goal going forward is the same it has been for last two years - to promote mountain biking in the Lehigh valley by creating an atmosphere where people can step up, get involved and take ownership of projects and events. It's part of my leadership style and has worked for me in my corporate life. I really don't know if people like it or not but it is what it is. As you can tell I am not big on meetings and believe that successes speak for themselves.

As you may know I am a trail builder at Trexler

The Mountain bike trails at Trexler are currently being substantially diminished with no clear plan for replacement or expansion in the future. As club president I believe I can most effectively restore the trails lost at Trexler and expand the trail network in a way that balances all concerned parties and the health and well being of the park. This however can only be achieved with the positive attitude, commitment, and effort of you. This is a group effort. We have the power.

:ihih: Who is willing to do car pooling? I really love mtb. But my parents are too busy to offer me a ride. I am good at downhill. :cornut:

It's time for everyone's favorite part of the holiday season: VMB Officer Elections!!

All of the current officers (listed below) plan to run again, but we encourage anyone interested to run for a position. We can always use fresh ideas.

Elections will be held at at the VMB holiday party (date and location will be finalized shortly). Any VMB member can run for office, and paid members can vote in person at the meeting.

These are four the four membership-elected positions: president, vice-president (aka the president's whipping boy), treasurer (the money guy, or gal), and secretary.

Has any carbon-fans used these carbon bike rims like MTB, Fatbike, Roadbike, BMX.

As great as the event was on Sunday, there was trouble afoot throughout the day. It appears we had a credit card thief at work during TrexXxFest, going in to unlocked cars and grabbing credit cards where ever they could find them. The first report came to my attention the night of the event, with a card being stolen and used to go on a $2000 shopping spree at Wal-Mart. I sent out a mass email to all race participants and have since received 2 reports of others having cards stolen.

Events like this remind me why I ride, and work on trails, and push for more. It's all about the community of mountain bikers, and bringing great people together, and having an awesome time on bikes, and off of them.

I lost my glasses at the top of spanky at Sals yesterday.
I rested my bike and stuff by the big tree at the blue intersection to answer my phone out of my pack and when I was ready to go they were gone. I searched for 40 minutes to no avail, and it started getting dark. Wanted to go look again today but did not make it. I really hope to find them.
