Weekly posted ride

I did a ride today. Because I live and breathe mtb and by luck obtained knowledge of 2 rides that went on this evening. It would be great to see both posted on our website. Vmb wed nite is awesome and moved its venue for a purpose, to clean race tape. I joined for awhile, the fitness central ride. Nice people.

Bear Creek trails

Spent 3 days riding there last week. 1 day after a race, the race course markers worked well to guide me on day 1. Very well thought out mix of non-technical climbing and more technical on the transition to the descending part of the course. Just as I remembered it from years back, working on the original trails, and later racing there one or two times.  Refreshing change from South Mtn Bethlehem and Emmaus!

26 inch stuff to get rid of

Saving a bunch of stuff to build a 26inch wheel backup bike. Got to get rid of it. Some decent wheels and tires and such. Plus old  steel road bike frame bb crank with nice set of cane creek brake levers only. Take the frame you get the levers for a fixie. Also have some saddles stems and seatposts laying around. Anybody want any of it? Will CAT take this stuff or I forget other organization Karen is in?

Night riding

Is it listed somewhere what trails are OK (legal?) to ride after dark? and maybe which are grey areas? I'm guessing SMB is a grey area but not sure about the other trails. Finally got a light and looking to get out!

hornets nest

The kind you don't see until you get stung! Any sign of these at Sal's on the trails? Just checking, going there 1st time this year. None seen at South Mtn. Bethlehem, where I usually ride!!!

National Trails Day

June 4th is National Trails Day. Let's do something cool at one or more of our trail systems to get some new riders out and have some fun ourselves.

It would be awesome to do some light trail work, group rides and or BBQ (maybe this is the time to do the BBQ/picnic that has been brought up previously).

Anyone have ideas for a trail-day event, or available to help put something on?

NICA Team in Northwestern Lehigh County

I am planning to start a NICA affiliated team in Northwestern Lehigh County. I am in the beginning stages of the planning, but it looks like it will be a community based team which means that there will be no specific school district affiliation. However, my plan is to use Northwestern's colors and some form of the mascot (tiger) for the team. My hope is that the team will consist of mostly Northwestern students by the time my girls join the team. They are 8 now.

I support this club

After riding tonight's ride and interacting with all the different people and personalities I re-realized the importance of this club to our community at large. Like many of you I have been frustrated at the goings on and the growing pains but they are called growing pains for a reason. I was being reactionary when I said I was going to start a new club and yes, I started the gears turning to create a new club but I do realize that VMB is intregal to the fabric of this community.

Cookouts

I've been told VMB used to do cookouts. Can we please get back to having a monthly cookout and where all riding abilities can take place. Everyone could bring a dish and perhaps donate 5-10 bucks??
