Board Nominations are Now Open

According to the bylaws of this auspicious organization our current board of directors terms expire March 31st. Therefore we will begin the nominating process. I personally have more recommendations then current board slots therefore if some nominations do not make the board they will continue to carry out important club business without official voting privileges yet still have a fair amount of influence. This is a working board so each member will have a primary area of responsibility (which you may already be doing) in addition to what needs to be done.

Fatbike craze

Sorry if this is in the wrong category. I think I want to jump on the fatbike craze!! Anyone want to loan me their bike? Lol jk looking at the Specialized fatboy with the bluto fork. anyone have this bike and have any technical issues? Or if you think there are other bikes that should be mentioned please do so.

A Word from el Presidente elect

I met with outgoing club President Mr. Venturini and our VP Lou Mazzante for a download of VMB tribal wisdom in advance of my term. I was very impressed with their depth of understanding and engagement on the many important issues and opportunities concerning our mountain biking community. I was most impressed by the strong alliances they have developed with key individuals and organizations in support of VMB interests. In our best interest Mike V. will retain a leadership role in the club at his leisure with a narrower scope but no less importance.

Thank You Mike Venturini

As I sat with my first officer and club elders I was told Mike V stepped forward to lead a club mired in apathy. I did not know this because I too was not involved. The health of the club is important in times when there are no major demands or pressing issues so that it is there when things arise demanding the support of a strong membership and leadership team.

It is easy run for president when you can get membership excited and engaged for an important issue it is difficult to except the position and lead the club through dwindling interest.

Congrats

Everyone,
Please join me congratulating the officers of VMB. A large group turned out (from what I've heard) so that in itself is a great sign of things to come. I also want to thank the officers for willing to volunteer for another year - it's great that the bike community has such a group that can provide continuity.
In case you weren't there the club has a new president - "actionrental"
Mazzman is VP
Jason remains as treasurer and
Erock is secretary
Again, congrat to all the officers.
Mtv.
