EnduroRama Allamuchy is in the books — SALISBURY IS NEXT!

I've been involved in helping with the EnduroRama events and I'm happy to report that, judging by Allamuchy, it's been absolutely worthwhile!

It was a great day, great course, and proved to be the kind of really fun, laid-back and yet challenging event we hoped it would be. Thanks to Bob W. for the vision and vibe.

Reviews I found agree:

Rabies warning for Bethlehem/LV

My wife works for LVHN and got this in her email. The timing struck me as funny because I live in Macungie and I've seen a racoon repeatedly in broad daylight the last few days around a neighbor's house that borders a small forest... can't remember the last time I've seen a racoon in daylight?

Edit: apparently raccoons foraging in daylight is fairly common. Anyways, just a heads up.

Lunch In Thorpe

Want to share that I recently rode from my house (in Bethlehem) to have lunch in Jim Thorpe – and the entire trip (about 64 miles?) contained maybe about 9 miles? on the road.

I did this via the Nor-Bath and D&L rail trails. Determined to get to Jim Thorpe, I incorporated some actual in-use rail between Lehighton and JT (think there may be an alternative that I haven't yet tried).

It was a lot of fun and I recommend it!

How on earth does this happen

I mean, I know how it happened, I was riding along on yellow at Sals last night, warming up as I was waiting for a friend to arrive, and all the sudden I was flung over the bars and landing face first.

But upon looking at it again tonight, it occurred to me that the offending branch seems to have come from behind the wheel? That is the part I cannot wrap my head around.

"It's the lifestyle!" To a severely injured friend who needs to get back at it.

On the evening of May 17, I received news that a friend and riding buddy of mine had a mountain bike accident and suffered a spinal cord injury. Tom Morris is a native of Hazleton and is now a resident of Bloomington, Indiana where he is employed as a strength and conditioning coach and Assistant Director of Indiana University Sports Academy. Tom was alone and was not found for several hours. Since the accident happened near Tom's home in Bloomington, Indiana, he was life flighted to Indianapolis where he treated for a spinal cord injury.

french creek!

My first race is in the books!! French Creek was extremely fun, and yes, very rocky as well. Riding trex as many times as I have could never prepare me for a place like that, but I think I handled it fairly well. Got 6th place of the 17 riders in my category which I'm more then pleased with. Check my blog(link below) to see a few pics and a short video clip Will and myself filmed after the race was done.

Release of Liability Waivers...

Me again folks...thanks for your help thus far, we are getting close to heading out...

We discovered we need a Release of Liability Waiver for Sals. I imagine this is still the case. Anyone know differently?

Are there any other places we may need these waivers. I heard Allamuchy if you go on the North side (in the Boy Scout Area) there is also a waiver or its considered trespassing.

Also, any place we should "worry" about hunting? :yikes: I saw a rant about Allegrippis having hunting.

We have bear bells, but don't know what else is 'kosher' out that way.
