Since I am laid up recovering this website is my only escape from mental healing. Anyway, last winter, it seemed as though there were way more posts about getting into the woods to do trail building and maintenance all over the valley. The cistern over at SME was being built almost at the same time the Girly Man was being finished at Sals, plus every once in a while a few folks would get up to SMB to do some maintenance.
Hey everyone,
I'm a beginner just starting out to ride seriously. I was wondering what anyone thinks is a good place for me to start out riding at? I work on South Mountain and see the Lehigh trails every day, but they look a little treacherous for me to start on. Anything anyone would like to offer would be great.
Thanks,
Jack
Nothing like an unexpected server migration notice at 11:40pm on Christmas Eve.
Had I known it was coming I would have handled it different, but it's done now and I'd rather just leave it behind. We lost a couple days worth of posts but it should be okay going forward.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all!!
Looking forward to meeting/riding with you all this upcoming year.

To all my long-time VMB pals, all the great new members and, in particular, the people so willing to give of themselves to make cool things happen within this club and the local cycling community -- publicly or behind the scenes...
BEST WISHES FOR A PEACEFUL HOLIDAY SEASON.
I'm looking forward to a great 2009, featuring: Great rides on new trails, a new event or two, cool day-trips, epic rides, stylish new VMB apparel and … a bunch of laughs.
See you at the party on January 16!

Now in HD!
So, uh... who's coming out next year??
Was planning on hitting blue for a few late afternoon turns but being pressed for time decided to hit slas instead. set out from dodson trail head about 4:10. snow was suprisingly grippy and steerable down the yellow to orange to lower red. nice tracks to follow.
turned around after watching the sun go down to follow my tracks back out the same way.
Not pretty -- pretty gnarly actually.
Hey folks. I'm a PA native who moved to Florida about 10 years ago. I'll be in the Lehigh Valley visiting relatives from the 21st through the 24th and would love to get in a ride or two.
I ride technical singletrack here in Tampa (don't laugh!) about 3x per week and I'm trying to stay fit for some upcoming races. If anybody would like to meet for a ride or offer advice on their favorite trail(s), I'd really appreciate it.
I'm bringing a bunch of cold-weather riding gear that I've scrounged from friends and my lights in case there is a night ride happening anywhere.
