Through my day job at Bicycling, I'll be leading a beginner's ride at Jacobsburg State Park next Saturday, May 4. It will be a relatively short ride, emphasizing fun and some basic instruction for beginners. If you know of anyone thinking about getting into mountain biking, this would be a great way to introduce them to the sport. They just need a mountain bike in good working order, a properly fitting helmet, and some water. We'll have VMB brochures to hand out as well. Registration is free, but limited to 20 people. You can sign up by calling the park manager, Rob Neitz, at 610-764-2805.
Just got most of the creaks out of the bike, now I think I'll work some out of my legs... Hitting Jim Thorpe tomorrow, doing American Standard. The pace will be pretty mellow, figure 4 hours or so to go 15 miles. I'll be in the second Game Lands parking lot at around 10:00 and probably riding by 10:30; text/call/PM me or sign up here and I'll know to be looking for you.
