I understand work began this past weekend to add trail through the remaining portion of forest that was logged a few years back. Merli remains one of the funnest places to ride and this additional two miles of trails will only make it better.
I'm guessing this may bypass the nasty "logging road" which is always a muddy bring-down at the end of an otherwise fun ride.

if anybody has wilderness 101 or maybe the transylvania epic in their scope, this loop will get you use to extended climbing. four mountan climbs ( on the same mountain, however) the 1st three are dirt roads. put it on yer bucket. its about as fun as it gets on a road bike. very little traffic too
Thinking of doing a short but sweet gnarly ride to the Pinnacle Saturday night around 8:00pm. If anyone is interested post here and I will give you directions. Fire road and really technical singletrack, and one bad ass view.
I've got an older Poulan 14" that is full of fresh gas/oil but I can't get it to turn over. If someone out there is handy with these little motors, you are welcome to it. :poke:

After seeing SMB Sat. afternoon it's safe to assume every trail out there at every trail system will be scattered with limbs and many trees down. I am pretty much planning on spending a good part of this coming weekend at Sals cleaning up. Is anybody else planning on heading in anywhere?
Would someone mind letting me know the name of the borrito place near Lehigh university? Meeting a buddy of mine and I sorta remember where it is but don't know the name. A street adress would also be much appreciated.
(I either need to start drinking more or a whole lot less after rides - bit I guess it would help if I ever saw one of these places when it wasn't raining)

We live in Macungie and are still without power, which is understandable. The house temp was down to 54 degrees this morning. All of west Allentown and surrounding suburbs seem to be flocking to open restaurants for warmth and food. The irony of our survival skills' reliance on the service industry has not eluded us as we sit here at an Applebees, haha.
To keep this bike related, last night I turned on my Lupine Piko indoors and my wife started freaking out.
"JESUS ITS LIKE DAYLIGHT IN HERE, TURN IT OFF BEFORE I GO BLIND, HOW BRIGHT IS THAT THING!?"
