Angle and tamp top-slope side. Pull organic matter back up to down-slope side and tamp. Step 6 -> :beer:

Rake out trail tread @18" with a slight downward slope. Pack soil tight with tamper, top first then down-slope side.

Cut in trail using a Mcleod or pick. Depth is determined by steepness of slope. The cut line is a few inches below the cleared organic matter.
