Trail Details

This network of multi-use trails was designed, constructed and is maintained by the Valley Mountain Bikers.

Salisbury township’s Walking Purchase Park, affectionately known to the locals as “Sals” is a wonderfully flowing network of technically advanced trails. The perimeter of trails totals roughly 10+ miles of well designed and maintained singletrack.

Riders will encounter rocky sections during climbs and descents, interspersed with smooth and flowy sections. One of the strengths of this network is the excellent use of the land to facilitate a beautiful flow. Elevation gains are perpetually linked with fun descents. But you will earn your turns here.

Any number of smaller looping rides can be ridden simply by using the inner Lenni trail as the nucleus of the loops. Nacho Supreme offers a handful of dirt-jump style hits and while Girlyman and Bypass provide some new-school techy flow that is a blast to descend.

Sals is home to the popular Steel City Enduro–the longest running enduro in Pennsylvania and now as many people ride Sals as enduro stages as they do a traditional XC loop. Using Cardinal Drive, which bisects the park, to climb back up to the top helps make all the elevation gain a little more manageable.

Even with the descents, expect a tough, techy ride with lots of climbing. Average speeds of 6 or 7 mph is typical, even for advanced riders.
