The trails around the eastern shores of Lake Nockamixon are some of the most popular in Pennsylvania. The system includes about 8 miles of handbuilt singletrack organized into three primary loops. Most riders ride Nox as a continuous counterclockwise loop, but most trails can be ridden in either direction (Upper Haycock Run is the only exception) so riders can mix up the trail segments to create longer or shorter loops.

Most of the trails are flowing smooth dirt with few natural obstacles and there are plenty of fun side features along the way. The most challenging trails are at the southernmost end within the Jaywalk loop, where there’s a little more elevation, some steeper pitches, and a few more rocks.

While the trails have few substantial climbs, the terrain is not flat; it rises and falls along gullies, shallow hills and around inlets and coves. Overall, you’ll experience twisty, rocky, smooth, rolly polly trails through open woods, thick cedars and big pines. It’s a kaleidoscope of enchanting terrain and possibly inhabited by Gnomes.

VMB is currently working with the state park to build a pavilion at the Tower Road Parking area. The mountain bike community has contributed more than $21k toward the cost, with VMB covering the rest.
