Trail Details

The ‘Burg has 18 miles of mixed surface trails without about 10 miles of maintained mountain bike trails. The terrain is old-school XC: relatively tight, rough singletrack with minimal climbing. The minimal elevation make it great for beginner and intermediate riders, but there are enough fun challenges to make it appealing to more advanced locals.

The trail system is popular with hikers, dog walkers, and equestrians. Always be alert of other trail users, especially those on horseback. Some trails adjacent to the main parking lot are hiking only, so double check your route before staring out.

The park has a really fun network of trails that intersect often. Valley Mountain Bikers has signed three loops: Tan, Pink, and Purple that are good ways to explore the terrain for newer riders. The trails intersect often, allowing riders to create their own loops once they become more familiar with the area.

The tread varies greatly from cindered double wide to some mildly technical singletrack with short climbs and downhills. The old-school trails still have some waterbars, making the short climbs more challenging and the descents more fun. There are sections of rocks, but they are generally short and sweet. Most routes will take riders across or along roads. Be careful, traffic doesn’t have much warning to our presence and moves at a pretty fast clip.
