I am on the planning committee again for the Girls on the Run Spring 5K to be held at the Lehigh Parkway on Thursday, June 2nd. Info on the Lehigh County chapter of Girls on the Run can be found here: http://www.diakon.org/gotr

We are looking for running buddies to run along w/ the girls for the 5K (250 of them!), and also general volunteers to help with registration, act as course monitors/cheerleaders, assist at water stops, work the temporary tattoo station, etc...

We know how to armor a trail well here in Jersey too! Did some TM at Sourlands today. Really cool place. Pretty gnarly, kinda like SME. I'd recommend a trip out there.

Well I was riding along behind C39 and I came under attack. Live fire from every direction, 40+ full camo soldiers everywhere. Rounds whizzing by my head. I started having flashbacks of apocalypse now and found my self pondering the fact that I would do whatever it takes to ensure my survival... whatever it takes.. as I envision myself jumping off my bike at speed onto these trail terrorist and taking them down one by one and leaving their heads on a stick for all others to see.

Can someone tell me whether APT is ride-able or soft? I hate to run down there & it not be ride-able.

I hope that I am not sounding too much like a rookie but I am having issues with Climbing.....I always seem to lose traction on the rear tire.......I try shifting my weight back and the tire grips then just spins, if I go forward well it just spins, I end up getting off the bike and walking....Very frustrating....any advice?

Prior to riding at Sals, I had never encountered the triple log things, so I have a few questions.

Firstly, regarding a single log: Are you guys usually going fast enough that you bunny hop those? I still haven't perfected a proper bunny hop, so I more or less slow down at the logs and gently ride up and over them, both wheels riding across the log.

So I'm actually thinking about coming home to Bethlehem this summer. I'm scared :yikes: I've been in Vermont for the past 2.5 years and have worked summers at the college (Middlebury) doing computer/digital media support. Now I need to find work here and was wondering if anyone knew of anything, ANYTHING, that might make a bit of money or provide me with a sweet experience (resume worthy or not).

I'm late to the job bandwagon, yes I know, but I only just decided to come home. Point me in the right direction! Any help and I will be eternally grateful for your compassion.

I realize I'm probably splitting hairs here but I'm looking at the Mavic Crossmax SX and the Easton Havens. Both are sealed rim, UST compatible, around the same weight and price, and seem extremely capable. Does anyone have any personal experience with either of these? Would like to hear some first hand (or second hand if you know someone) accounts. Thanks in advance.

Wow the place must be getting popular, people are already losing things there...

My GPS unit popped off somewhere on the trail from the Tower Rd lot to where we were working yesterday. Garmin Edge 705, if anyone comes across it let me know.
