HubbardBC thanks you...

I'd like to thank the guys who made it up to Moosic Mountain Preserve and rode with us on Sunday. It was a big day for me especially cause I've been at the front of this project since our meeting with Jenny Case (The Nature Conservancy) last August. We assembled a "comittee" of contacts which included Jenny(TNC), Gene Katapski, Lee Curry(NEPMTBA) and myself Rob Gregory(Hubbard Bike Club). After our meeting we met up at MMP several times and Gene and myself would find hi-lites and show eachother what we found.

A Big Day for VMB

We had four events today running today.
Trexler Flagging, Womens Ride @ Jordan, Take A Kid Mtn Biking and the Hubbard Ride at Moosic.
I haven't heard about Jordan yet, but the other three were successful.

It's hard to be bored around here!

My first ride

Hi there. Well, I finally got out for my first real trail ride. Hubby took me to Jacobsburg on Friday. He took me on the blue trail.. WOW...I wasn't expecting the climb. Not steep, but seemed like it would NEVER end. This 37 year old mother of two learned just how out of shape she really is! Wink

Going down rocked, but we must have taken a wrong turn somewhere, because when we got to the bottom, we were suddenly on the yellow trail, and realized we would have to go BACK up the hill we just came down. :jawdrop:

Rob the snob

Everything eventually gets back to me. i was told by somebody in my profession my name came up in conversation and a guy named Scott who maybe works at a Holiday Inn tried to chat with me at the Bear creek race. I may have blown him off , maybe cause i was in the warm up zone or in a hurry like usual, cause i was referred to as abrasive and hard to talk to. (i know i'm rude and blunt but, abrasive, ouch) If anybody knows this dude let him know i am truely sorry and if he'd like to chat that i'm in the club and come to an upcoming group ride.

I need a bike

I havent been mountain biking for about 10 years, and a
lot of things have really changed, my old Kline Rascal is a vintage bike now, and there are all kinds new bikes out there, DH, XC, All Mountain, Single speed, 26, 29, 69, etc.

Whats the best way to find out whats best for me?

Night Riding?

It's getting to be that time of year, days are getting shorter and the opportunities for daylight riding are starting to dissappear, and there's already been a couple of night riding events posted.

I personally like riding in the dark, and would like to do more. What I'm wondering is...

1. Who actually has riding lights? (What kind do you have, and what would be your recommendations to someone looking to get lights?)

2. Do you use them? Where?

Haven't gotten out there yet:( :-(

Remember me? I posted a few weeks ago about Jacobsburg for the beginner. Got lots of great replies and really can't wait to meet some of you!

However, hubby and I just haven't gotten out there yet. He's off on Fri and Sat and it's just one thing after another. The first week we planned to go he came down with bronchitis, which turned out to be pneumonia. He just went back to work today, so hopefully we'll be getting down to Jburg this Friday morning.

A Ride With A Cause--PPRAC--registration open

Hey All

For those with a road bike, here's a chance to try something different. The Pennsylvania Perimeter Ride Against Cancer is a 500-600 mile, 6 day benefit ride for the American Cancer Society and Dream Come True. The next ride is coming up in August 2009 and registration is open now. This year's route will take us from Burlington, VT to Palmerton, PA.
