heading on a trek to a trail you've dreamed about....
Llanganuco Lakes in Parque Nacional Huascaran - Peru
These were taken last Friday with my son and daughter. My wife and other daughter were hiking the lakes. The ride is down from Portachuelo de Llanganuco to the town of Yunguy in the Ancash region of Peru. Although this is technically a road it was great riding. Switchbacks, rocks, puddles, edges of cliffs, two cars that we saw were easily passed going downhill, and the scenery all made it a great ride. It was close to an 8000 foot decent over 27 miles. This area is known for several reasons. In 1970 there was an earthquake that started an avalanche at the glaciers above.

We wanted to stay for dinner but the portions were too small! We were flying through the woods when out of the corner of my eye I saw "what the %$#@! Pretty cool! this was just out in the middle of the woods in Vermont!
California Dreamin
Check out this trail. The Guadalasca in Big Sycamore Canyon. I did it on Saturday with Ben, who doesn't sweat or breathe hard after few thousand of feet climbing.
Furious fun and fast. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uzeGpygVMfA
The video is the first half of the downhill and is the part you see in the image. The second half isn't quite as long, but it is rip ass fun.
When you get to the bottom, you really are not at the bottom. It's still 5 miles downhill to the trailhead at the beach.

M*A*S*H Ride
Um, I made it. I'm alive although I spent some quality time on the flat rock at the top of the Bulldog climb. Doug has pictures. Super views
That climb up is horrendous.
