People, Places, Lifestyle and Trail Dogs

post your pics of odd stuff and people you meet and places you go

Soooo 90's

Typical 90s Thursday night -- packing up and headed someplace dirty in search of prize money. Davis, WV bound and loaded to the gills with an XC, 20" trials, 26" trials and Slalom bikes stuffed in there. 29" wide prototype 0.035 wall titanium flatbars were way ahead of their time, but flexed like crazy didn't last the weekend resulting in a flat out faceplant. Style -- original Shimano DX pedals, neon gearbag and a 1995 Doe Mountain Challenge shirt. Shawn White copied my hair.

Hanging with the former VP in VT

So, while all of you are digging out of this historical powder dump, we are spending the week skiing Killington, VT and spending some quality time with Tracey and Mike. BTW, haven't recieved any more than a few inches since we got here Saturday....but the skiing has been great. Blue Bird sky on Tuesday, but it's been cold.

Deerfoot Soup

Liz is quite the carnivorous chef, and is always looking to create something nutritious and deelicious for herself and her friends. This scrumptious pot of free-range goodness is going to be boiled down to a healthy stew guaranteed to put that fleeting spring in your leg-speed and some fur upon your neck! Dear gawd, I believe this is a way to get a leg up on the next group ride without hoof and mouth disease. She'll be passing around samples.

Holy Cow It's John Dude II

After getting shelled off Sundays mountain bike ride and missing the trail-side sushi/salmon snack, John Dude was a little distraught at the smackdown he thinks he recieved. I told him something to the effect of "Dude, if you want to run with the bulls, you have to stand in the same pasture." Since then he's been training all week like he had something to prove.

Ass Kicker Sunday Ride #2

Oh Boy, another Ass-Kicker Sunday Lehigh-Sals-Lehigh loop. I got my ass kicked, courtesy of the pit-stop on top of the mountain. Fast pack, 4,500' of climbing, nearly 4 hours of riding time, and a mid-ride pit-stop with a 6pack of Victory Hop Devil, smoked salmon/cream cheese pinwheels, Mediteranian mixed olives (spicy), veggie brown rice sushi (for the 2 vegans), and EWR Bikes M&Ms (no kidding).

Mid-ride we were blessed to have John Dude join up with us for a little while -- priceless entertainment!

Spectacular Ride for you for your Sunday

I was at the Pinnacle today out near Hamburg. The place is awesome and the snowpack is perfect. A ton of people have been up there and the 8" of snow is all packed in and rideable. The map on the Googlemaps link below shows the way up on the left side of the Hamburg reservoir. Follow this map up to the top and over to the Pinnacle. There are alternate ways down -- look for tire tracks Wink I hope some of you decide to check it out tomorrow -- the place is awesome
