Welcome to our pre-launch of the OWB29er. All of us at EWR Bikes are proud and super-stoked to be sending this out to you for a sneak peak. What you see here is our hot new, mint as money OWB29er! The goal was to mimic the handling and heritage of the 26" OWB (Original Woods Bike) on a 29" wheeled platform, and the result is even better that I expected. Tonight was our first shakedown ride and pre-race break-in. We, as well as many of you, have been waiting with such anticipation -- here is what I've found out:
The bike is totally rad! I think we really nailed the geometry. It is really nimble, wheelies easily, manuals around corners superbly, shreds rolling switchbacks and descents, and it climbs so well! Super predictable and flick-able at speed and really lively when picking through the nasties This is no sit and spin bike -- it is made to power and ride aggressively. Throw it down and you're rewarded. I rode pretty much all of Salisbury Mountain trails in the big ring tonight, just ripping along. I cannot believe how good it felt -- so much so that I drove half of the way home with my helmet on before I realized! Racing tomorrow should be sick!
So, tomorrow, we are going to have our World Debut @ the M.A.S.S. Neshaminy race near Philly. I hope to see some of you there. We will be releasing a whole lot more information in the coming days about this exciting new addition to our lineup.
