Races

Here's my entry:

Dale's Trails local George Berger is a kick ass dirt jumper, but he's also turning into a solid racer. He's been steadily improving through Plattekill's Slalom series, and he's come firing out of the gate for this season with a new hardtail and new skills. One of the best races of the day was with George taking down PMBA's Jamie Fletcher. Both of them are killer nose-down dirt jumpers and evenly matched in slalom. Jamie got the jump and George pulled him back. Rock on, Flatshovel!

One of these two is doing a lot of dishes and lawn mowing this week -- no worries, makes you stronger and more determined for next week. Who do you think got it?

Nothing like a little sibling rivalry to fuel your passions. Who gets the new bike parts? Who has to take out the garbage for the week? Who will be doing the other one's chores for a month. Life is tough in the Dual Slalom Pressure Cooker, but things come to an absolute boil when the qualifying luck of the draw pits you against yer freakin' brother in the first round of the finals. If racing is a Cruel Mistress, the loosing to your brother is the ultimate spanking. At least until the next race...

An old racer friend Stacey Gold from Philly sent this -- LeMans start of a Canaan Mountain Series race in Blackwater (Davis), WVa. This is how the races started BITD there, and you went out onto some crazy hard remote singletrack. This is the May series event, and there's probably still snow around. Note the very original 1st generation EWR OWB with built in carrying handle, Tange Struts forks and stylee 1st generation Team Dirt Rag jersey (I have it on in a VMB Alumni Ride shot elsewhere on VMB.
