Work at trex yesterday went fairly well yesterday. The hand built trail looks sweet and I love the log over nice air there.
The mechanical trail work also went well in the beginning. Took some time but I got fairly comfortable with the dingo and it took a little time to get the tread outsloped properly, the skid steer seemed to dig too deep on the inside.
I have a concern that Andrew is trying to get to much done too quickly. I totally appreciate his enthusiasm and lending the equipment. I didn't think it was a wise decision to dozer all the hand-benched trail in the half pipe but maybe theres a reason for that?
Im going to email Frank to see if there are any upcoming mechanized trail building schools. there was one last year out in Chester county and I think it was $100 for 2 days. Or if we could get someone experienced (Bob W. and crew) to give us some pointers.
I think it would be best to determine where the dozer will help out the most before just plowing the trail.
