This year I will be posting several "Awesome Adventure Woman" (AAW) Women's Only rides and events on the VMB site and I just wanted to quickly explain what they are all about.
I do volunteer work with a local non-profit called "Awesome Adventure Woman" (AAW). It's a great organization that offers women the opportunity to experience many activities that they may not have the confidence or connections to do on their own in a safe, comforatble (primarily/usually all female environment)For more information go to www.aawonline.com or private message me through the VMB site.
Awesome Adventure Women was founded in 2005 by my friend, Michelle Halbsgut. Her passion for the outdoors and adventure inspired her to form an adventure group for women who want to try new activities, challenge themselves or simply get out and enjoy the outdoors with like-minded women. Some of the previous and upcoming events are rock climbing, home auto-repairs, archery, trap/skeet-shooting, race car experience, caveing/spelunking, whitewater rafting, and more. It's a really great group and inexpensive to join.
Any rides I am running for AAW that I post on VMB site are FREE for VMB members (if you check the AAW site, you will notice she charges for every event - minimal fee, but none-the-less, aawonline.com mentions a fee.). So I just wanted to clarify here, no fee for AAW Women's Only rides I post on VMB site.
There will be at least 1 AAW specific ride per month. Starting at the easier riding locations and building from there up to harder riding (most AAW participants are beginner level at most events that are offered).
