We know you love mountain biking in and around the Lehigh Valley — the rocks, the tight trails, the climbs, even that East Coast flow — and there's never been a better or more important time to show support for your local trails by joining or renewing your membership in Valley Mountain Bikers (VMB).
For the month of May, International Mountain Biking Association (IMBA) is offering several very sweet prizes for anyone who joins or renews their membership in local chapters like VMB: The Yeti Cycles SB160 T1 and Western Spirit Guided Mountain Bike Adventure just to name a couple... But before we get to that, here are a few important things VMB does to support and promote mountain biking in the Lehigh Valley area:
- We work hard so you can ride hard. VMB is made up of almost 300 local riders who care deeply about the trails and riding community. Your support is a powerful motivator and affirmation of their effort and dedication, proof that people care about their work. It's a simple and powerful way to say thank you to our volunteers, who put thousands of hours into the trails every year.
- Your membership dollars go right back to the trails you ride. Our trail systems at Nox, Sals, Jordan, and the others we support with partner groups also require ongoing care and improvements—signs, tools, insurance, volunteer training all costs a considerable amount of money.
- Events, races and group rides help keep us all connected. Each year, we put in nearly 2,000 hours of trailwork to keep our trails safe, sustainable, and fun to ride. VMB hosts the Steel City Enduro and Trexxxfest races each year, which bring out local and regional riders and show off our trail systems to the wider community. We organize kids rides, women's rides, and weekly group rides. And of course, our amazing volunteers are on the trails after storms cleaning them up quickly so you can get back riding safely.
