2023 Officer Winter Meeting + Election Results

Despite some slushy, snowy, icy, wet weather we had our largest Winter Meeting ever. More than 80 members turned up at Saucon Valley bikes for our meeting and officer elections. It was electric.

We want to thank Joël at SVB for once again hosting us, and keeping us fed with pizza while we discussed our major accomplishments for 2022 and looked ahead to some goals of 2023. Some major projects we'll focus on include getting started with the concept plan for a bike park and pump track in Easton, mountain bike film and ride festival in Bethlehem, building a pavillion at Nox, and creating new trail maps and welcome-center kiosks for all of our local trail systems.

We'll provide a complete year end wrap up, but the major accomplishments have been: Opening Jack O' Diamonds at Trexler Nature Preserve, putting the finishing touches on on our trail sign project across the Valley, seeing a record number of members, and all-time high level of revenues. At the meeting we also rolled out the first batch of our VMB merchandise, which we'll be adding to the web site for sale.

With so much to do, we'll be reaching out to members and looking for volunteers to help more than ever. From trail building, to event planning, to member services, organizing rides, and communication and content creation--if you have a skill you'd like to use to help improve mountain biking in the Valley and strenghthen our community, let us know. Reach out to one of our officers or board members. Or email us at valleymountainbikers (at) gmail.com.

We're thankful for everyone who ran for office, voiced suggestions, and brought energy toward strengthening VMB. After the ballots were tallied the following candidates were voted in as VMB officers for 2023—all of them are incumbents who served the same role in 2022:

President: Louis Mazzante
Vice president:  Eric Mansfeld
Treasurer: Jason Shivok
Secretary: John Deily

On behalf of all the officers and board, we wish everyone a happy holiday season, are grateful for all the contributions our members and volunteers made, and are buzzing with excitement over what we can accomplish together in 2023.
