Its the New Year and 2008 will mark the beginning of work on another trail system in the Lehigh Valley. Our hard work at Salisbury has been noticed and we've been asked to design and build a new trail for the South Mountain Emmaus trail system on the Wildlands Conservancy property.
Due to some tough conditions there, namely wetlands, steep slopes and giant rocks there was a need for a new trail to get up to the ridge trail. This has been designed, laid out and approved and we'll start work on this trail this Sunday at 12PM.
If your interested, meet up at the Alpine St. trailhead at 12 PM. We'll hike in and hang a left over to the Cistern trail area.Work to be done includes bench cutting on the slope and rock filling a gulley area.Tools required are picks, shovels, rock bars, etc.
So come on out if you can and help out with our new project! Hope to see you there!
