In case you haven't noticed there are some great trail building projects in the works or proposed for the Lehigh Valley area.
The Salisbury project is going strong in its 3rd year with something like upwards of 6000 hours of volunteer time so far! We've built a little over 9 miles of singletrack trails and hope to get the total over the 10 mile mark this Winter and keep going!
There is also some trail building in the works for SME and trail design for the Trexler Game preserve.
For the Salisbury project, the trail construction process in well underway. To keep it going we need healthy, enthusiastic bodies to get out there and do the grunt work required to build all these trails. So, we're asking for more people to get involved in the trail building process.
If you like hanging out in the woods and doing stuff like swinging picks, digging and transporting clay and moving rocks, cutting brush, etc, by all means let us know!
There are regularly scheduled trail days every month and several other days listed with short notice. And, if you are currently underemployed/unemployed we are out there several times a week doing this stuff. So don't be shy come on out and help build the cool trails everybody rides! Trailbuilders may even be able to wrangle a free membership out of the deal.
