Apologies to everyone who signed up for this course. Our Stihl trainer has just canceled on us. Instead of rescheduling on another weekday, we're talking to another saw trainer who will be available on a weekend. We'll provide an update once we lock in a date, but we're looking at mid June for this. The course we're looking at should be even more comprehensive and provide more thorough training. It will cost VMB more (though it will still be free for members) but we feel it's worth it to make sure those helping on the trails get the best instruction and safety training. In the meantime, we'll continue working with Lehigh County to take care of any trees that are limiting access on those trails. We're sorry about the short notice and inconveneince.

Calling all VMB trail builders. We are hosting a Stihl chainsaw safety course at the Trexler game preserve environmental center which is located in the central range. All VMB members who are involved with trail maintenance should attend. This course is mandatory for those who wish to operate a chainsaw on any trail system. The course starts at 8:30am and should be done around lunch, exact time depends on attendance and trainee involvement. There is a video presentation and talk followed by an outside safety demonstration. No special materials required, if you wish to handle a saw then work boots and jeans are required.
