This summer, Mountain Flyer Magazine, published a 10 page feature story on Valley Mountain Bikers and the riding scene in the Lehigh Valley. Writer Brigid Mander flew in from Jackson Hole, Wyoming, after hearing buzz about what’s happening right here and after four days in the area, rode away more than impressed: “With rolling hills, abundant protected land, and some dedicated riders, the Lehigh Valley has blossomed into a cycling hub,” she wrote.
The story “Lehigh Valley and the VMB” opens with a shot of Return of Brian’s at Trexler Nature Preserve. Mander dives into the early days of VMB and trail development at Sals, Nox, and Trex, and hits on larger themes too: building a community of riders, developing riding experiences that are accessible and enjoyable for all, and not inconsequentially, the joy of learning to “run what you brung,” as VMB vice president Eric Mansfeld told Mander.
The Issue also features a cover story on Lea Davison, a piece on Iron Cross, and an Ode to riding in Appalachia. You can purchase issues for $7 at mountainflyermagazine.com
