I attended the Community Bike Works fundraising event last night at Iron Pigs Stadium and the first people I met were Steve and the lovely Kim LaBrake. Community Bike Works of Allentown develops literacy, accountability and leadership of disadvantaged kids through their build a bike program. Steve has been on the board of Community Bike Works for 10 years donating time and collecting used bikes and parts for the program. Steve and Kim donated this awesome cruiser for the auction, I am sure it's not there first. Steve told me Kim is on the board of the March of Dimes, really great people we are lucky to have them as part of our community.
One way the biking community can get involved right now is by donating old bikes to the program, Steve says kids bikes 24" wheels and down I think BMX bikes are quite popular with the kids.
