I hope that you are enjoying the winter weather. Are you ready for spring yet?
Check out the dates below and mark your calendars! We will be sending you more details on each bike ride/event as the dates get closer. As a reminder, we do have a limited number of bikes and helmets available if a young person will need one for the ride. We hope to see you this spring!
Friday, April 15th - Sunday, April 17th (Global Youth Service Day/Weekend - Ride and Trail Service Day) McDade Trail National Park Service Bushkill, PA this ride will most likely take place on Saturday with a clean up portion for the day as well.
Tuesday, April 19th (ESU Earth Day / Bike Day Celebration) East Stroudsburg University, 11am - 4pm We would like to have VMB present at this event promoting the club and enjoying the festivities that will be going on. Last years earth Day event at ESU was a great success. Thanks to a few VMB members we were able to pass out info on Sals trails and get some of the college students on there bikes, and into the woods for some rides....
The following rides are with the kids and along the McDade trail. The McDade trail runs along the Delaware River From Shawnee Village. It has several destinations along it's pathway to Milford, PA Our rides start at Smithfield Beach parking lot and consist of an educational portion regarding the NPS along with a NPS ranger on hand as well. We have snacks provided by Clif Bar a sponsor of TFK and we also have an inventory of Trek Mountain Bikes on hand, but we have a limited amount and the kids do reserve them before hand. It would be great if some of you could come out and promote riding like this. Bring the family it's a nice flowing trail with a few moderate climbs.
