The 26er is dead, long live the 26er!

Came across this and thought it would be good to spark some "conversation"

I know I've made fun of the 29ner while out on group rides, and even eventually chose a 26er as my new ride but I was giving the 29ner a serious look and joking aside have nothing really bad to say.

So - now that i've endeared both sides of the camp - Are 29ners getting dropped, as this guys suggests they could, at places like Sals? Or do the larger wheels rolling smoothly over the rocks make up for it? What about Jordan - Is the ride sweater on a 29ner?
