150th Annual Tice-Medellin Thanksgiving Morning MTB Ride
Here it is folks!! The event you've all been waiting for. The 150th (yes I said 150th) Annual Tice-Medellin Thanksgiving morning MTB ride. The longest running MTB ride in the United States!!
Come on out on Thanksgiving morning to ride South Mountain and be part of history. Ride the ride whose first participants included such notables as Abraham Lincoln, Robert E Lee, Bernie Connelly and Jim Tice. You thought the Civil War was fought over slavery - not so. The Lincoln/Lee rivalry started on the trails of South Mountain!!
This is an event not to be missed! This ride continues to attract some of our top government leaders. Obama, Boehner, McConnell, Reid, Horwath, Pinkerton. They'll all be there. There's even speculation that the reason Mitt Romney lost the election is because he was so preoccupied planning for this ride!! The fiscal cliff can wait. These riders want to go over some real cliffs (Bernie will lead the way)!!
As always the pre ride activities are sure to amuse and delight.
* Name an injury that Bernie has NOT had - try to name an injury that hasn't happened to Bernie. Punctured lung - done it. Ripped rotator cuff - done it. 3rd degree burns on 'extremities' from microwaved tomatoes - done it. So use your imagination and see if you can win this fan favorite. NOTE: "fractured skull" is not a valid entry due to the documented igneous nature of Bernie's skull.
* Horwath/Pinkerton Debate - in the spirit of the Lincoln/Doulas debates watch these two debate such topics as "What color is the sky?", "Will the sun rise in the east?", "Does a bear crap in the woods?" (editors note: the "Does a bear crap in the woods?" question has been removed from the agenda after documented photographic evidence surfaced after one of Greg's camping trips).
This year's grand prize is one slightly "used" red tomato. Please ignore any FDA or CDC warnings on the packaging.
So don't miss out on the ride event of the year. Mark your calendar. 9:00 a.m. meeting at the parking lot on top of South Mountain across from the OLD Channel 39 offices. This is a social ride suitable for all abilities.
