Thank You, VMB

I would like to thank everyone for a great year as President of VMB in 2013. Smile We've accomplished several major things that have built on a solid foundation of work undertaken by prior Presidents, officers, and Boards over the last couple of decades.

We have in 2013:

1.) Successfully undertaken TWO enduros at Sals and Trex which have collectively raised nearly $6,000 for this club and raised our regional reputation. Even after paying for the much-needed Nox parking lot expansion, our treasury stands at a near-record level.

Congratulations to the newly-elected 2014 VMB Officers!

I would like to extend congratulations and a warm welcome to the newly-elected 2014 VMB officer corps that will be taking office 1-1-2014:

President: mtv (welcome Mike!)

Vice-President: Lou Mazzante (returning for a second term)

Treasurer: Jason Shivok (also returning for a second term)

Secretary: Eric Rigler (congratulations, Eric!)

I will be making sure that the transition will be quick and seamless on my end - VMB has a good group of officers going forward and a solid Board with which they'll be working through May of the upcoming year.

Deer Hunting - Releated Trail Closure Dates 12/2 and 12/7 @ Nox

For everyone planning on riding at Nockamixon in the near future (and to check out the newly-expanded parking lot Biggrin ) please keep in mind that the park management has asked that the mountain bike trails be closed for the first day of shotgun antlered deer season on Monday 12/2 AND on the first Saturday of the same season on 12/7.

Thanks VMB

Somtime last year we had some vandalism up on the jumpline on SMB and a lot of rumors were being spread about who had done it. I reached out to some of our local freerider/dhers and VMB for answers and to help rebuild . To make an extremely long story short a few people showed up a including a lehigh student, 2 locals and a group of 7 VMB members who came with tools and beer. I know your under a lot of scrutiny right now, but I wanted to thank the 7 members who came out to help that day and all the members/builders that take their riding time out to give back to our trails.

Saucon Valley Bikes $50 donation

Hey Folks,

Don't forget, Steve has generously donated a $50 gift certificate to his shop for one lucky VMB member so please send in your nominations to me in a PM. Thus far I have gotten a few but I know that they are lots of deserving folks out there that have gone above and beyond for VMB and our trails. Let's let them know that we appreciate what they do for us. The $50 gift certificate will be given out at the general membership meeting December 4!

Thanks!

Renee

IMPORTANT: Tower Road Lot @ Nox CLOSED on Friday, 11/22!

DCNR is planning an official one-day closure of the Tower Road parking lot lasting dawn-to-dusk on Friday, 11/22/2013 and is asking that all park users avoid this area entirely. You will NOT be able to access this lot on the 22nd no matter how early or late you arrive.

For all planning to ride at Nockamixon on this day - please plan to park at Haycock Boat Launch off Mountainview Drive (Route 563) and access the northern trailhead just across the bridge.
