New Terms and Conditions - Insurance driven

Everyone,
I'm sure you have noticed that VMB has a new set of "code of conduct" rules. The update is being driven by our change in insurance - we are able to get a discount if the club has clear set of guidelines. Although we already had a set of guideline in our charter, the update clarifies a few points and is consistent with what the insurance industry expects.
For those that participate in other clubs, the language may seem familiar - we tried to keep it as simple as possible and followed what other clubs have done.

VMB insurance lapse - short term

Everyone,
I would like to let everyone know that the club has been affected by an insurance issue at IMBA - we used to get our insurance for club activities through them and unfortunately the carrier dropped IMBA and all the affiliated clubs and chapters. VMB is one of them.
Fortunately, we have made very good progress and it looks like we have two options going forward that fit our budget and our needs and will not require us to substantially change our activities.

Sals Water Damage

It sounds like there's been some substantial damage to parts of the orange and red loops at Sals, possibly due to a busted water main. Karen Krasley was there the other day and reported that there was widespread erosion, a foot or more deep in places and up to 100 feet ride. I've got a call in to Salisbury to see what they know about this, but won't be able to get out to check it out until this weekend. If anyone else heads over before then (trails are still covered in snow in most places) take some pictures if you can, and feel free to report here what you see.

Thanks,

free XC ski and snowshoe rentals at nescopeck state park

If you want to introduce someone to either you have a week left of free rentals from the a Environmental Education Center at the park. When I go this week I'll ask if they will extend the date past the 23rd or if that date is specific because they need to transfer them somewhere else.

For now some trails are already tracked in, especially where the "state" championship snowshoe race was Saturday (quotes because it's the only race in the state) for a beginner a nice place to start is a loop around lake Francis.

Who else feels like they are living on the international space station??

I thought i would make it through this winter but I am starting to get a touch of cabin fever - may be more than a touch.
I ended up doing
290 squats
200 push ups
150 inverted rows just to give myself something to do.
Satellite dish is buried under 1'+ of snow/ice and everyone at work is in Cancun - stranded their because of the snow. (i'd tell you why I'm not in cancun but I may end up slitting my wrists if I'm forced to type it out.

What have you done....?? Anyone got some good pics from a summer ride - anything....
