Trex - Conditions, Update and Wildlands shout-out

If you haven't been up to Trex lately, you should try to get up there. There has been a lot of activity and the local trail elves have been doing a great job of clearing back the AO - what's left of it and clearing the trails of debris.
In a word, conditions are fantastic and the forecast for the week should mean great trail conditions for next weekend's event.
If you have been there, you can see that a great deal of AO has been leveled and the work crews are going out of there way to not trash the bike trails. The views are certainly improved and once the grasses start to grow in and the "scorched earth" look mellows, it is going to be a beautiful place to ride.
Wildlands and the County have been especially considerate during the project and have been kind enough to work with us for Trexxfest by guiding the work crews away from the trails until after the event. There shouldn't be any problems with the trail routes.
Moving forward, we have had preliminary discussions with the Parks Dept. on future trail locations and we hope to have a final word from them by end of November. We have also started to lay the frame-work for the necessary work and have identified the critical steps to install the trails (design, engineering, approval, permitting and construction). The timeline is still coming together and will depend on the resources we can pull together - IMBA, professional trail crews, etc. More on that once we enter the design and engineering phase after the location has been finalized.
The riding is as good as it gets -hope to see you out there.
